A student who wishes to study full-time to progress to university courses having recently achieved a good range of GCSE qualifications.
What qualifications or experience do I need ?We welcome students with GCSE A* - C in 5 academic subjects obtained in one sitting. Subjects must include a Grade B in English Language or English Literature * GCSE Grade B or above in English
What will I study ?AS Film Studies specification 1181 Examining Board WJEC Unit 1: * Exploring Film Form - includes written analysis and creative project Unit 2: * British & American Films
How will I be assessed ?Assessment is through: *1 examination *2 x coursework
What qualifications could I achieve ?On successful completion of this course, you will achieve an AS Level in Film Studies.
How do I join the course ?You must complete a full-time application form and make an appointment for an interview with a tutor. References will be required from your previous educational establishment.
Will I need an interview ?Yes, before you can enrol.
Any extra costs for equipment/materials ?During your course there will be some additional costs for textbooks and the purchase of DVD's. Cinema visits are essential and access to appropriate computer software.
