Film directors use technique to tell the story. Technique is the way meaning is created in film when all the elements
of good storytelling fuse together: cinematography, sound design, acting styles, music score, and editing. Mise-en-
scene (what is put in the scene) includes, for example, camera angle, crane shot, close up, gesture, costume, long
take, stunts and special effects (fx) to form the narrative. The camera paints with light and style reveals substance.
Come learn the tricks of the trade.
