This course is a workshop focused on listening at upper intermediate level. You will learn how to recognise difficult sounds in French and improve your listening comprehension with a mixture of exercises and authentic documents.

About this course
- better understand spoken French by improving your recognition of difficult sounds in the language
- be aware of different accents among French speakers
- extract the main information from TV / radio broadcasts more easily.
All of the material of the course will be provided by the tutor.

Course programme
We will improve your understanding of radio/TV programmes such as the news. We will also have a look at different accents you will encounter among French speakers and look at and identify the fillers used in speech such as "ben, heu" etc.
The course is based on the communicative approach: - active students’ interaction - emphasis on speaking and listening skills - pair and group work - role plays - use of realia, pictures and authentic material - use of audio-visual techniques when appropriate Please note, students are expected to participate in oral classroom activities and to do some homework as and when required.Additional information
