All department staff are practising artists, and they have a wide range of specialist interests and expertise . Though you will have one main teacher we offer flexibility for you to try a range of methods of working, and we operate as a team to share knowledge and to sup .

· An exciting range of technical resources and art processes in both 2D and 3D.
· Regular monitoring of work through group discussions and individual assessment, both verbal and written.
· Annual visits to Paris, Florence and Berlin. Regular visits to galleries in London and Cambridge.
· Students often undertake work placements outside the College to help their professional development.
· Bursaries in Printmaking at the Curwen Studio are available for gifted students, and there are many opportunities to take part in competitions to complement your coursework.
· Programme of support for students when preparing their portfolios for application to art foundation and degree courses.

Resources and Facilities
We have excellent facilities, the purpose-built Art and Design Centre was opened by Zandra Rhodes in 1998. There are nine studios, which are organised to support a wide range of specialist study; including painting, drawing, mixed-media, collage, digital graphics, photography, animation, textiles, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, and history of art.
