Attendance
You are expected to be available to attend college Monday to Thursday 9am to 5.30pm and Friday 9am to 4.30pm. Your timetable will be 16 hours per week and will be explained to you at interview.
Course Description
The aims of this qualification are to meet the needs of candidates who want to work in the ICT sector.
Course Structure
The course covers customer support provision, installation, configuration and upgrade of ICT software, ICT equipment maintenance.
Course Assessment
Assessment takes place throughout the year with a series of realistic tasks, there are regular tutorials that help you progress your skills.
You will also study Key Skills which include Maths and English.

Course Costs
There are no course fees if you are under 19 years old on 31 August 2010. However, you may have to pay for textbooks, personal kits, uniforms, trips and personal stationery. You will be informed of these at your interview.

Activities such as trips and visits will be arranged, which are beneficial to this course and your learning. These activities are optional and additional fees will be charged to you. Details will be provided at the time of interview.

Students can progress to Level 3 courses in ICT systems
Course Career Prospects
There are many opportunities for successful learners to enter the IT sector in junior positions such as trainee technicians. After further study job options include computer operator, computer support services engineer and service technician.
