C&G 2330 Level 2 in Electrotechnical Technologies

Description of course:
A wide range of practical and theoretical topics relating to Electrotechnical industry, specialising in Electrical Installation.

Method of assessment:
There are a variety of continuous practical and theoretical assessments conducted in the classroom and workshops, but the main assessments are by final exam using the college computers and a practical exam in the workshop.

Progression opportunities and careers:
Upon successful completion of Level 2 of the qualification, students would have the opportunity to move up to Level 3 of the same qualification. There is also a range of short courses available to help people progress toward qualified electrician status.

Entry requirements:
A minimum of 3 GCSEs grade A*-D (Maths, English, Science preferably Physics) Candidates with other equivalent qualifications and/or experience will be considered.

Additional qualifications studied:
All full time students will undertake a combination of additional qualifications that will enhance their study skills and those skills that will be important in employment.

Additional costs:
Students will be expected to purchase their own safety boots (approx 25) for workshop activities, plus purchase of relevant textbooks (approx cost 110)
