ESOL with Hairdressing ESOL qualifications

Level: Entry 3

Course content:
Students study 4 mornings a week in the classroom learning English in the context of hairdressing and 1 morning a week in the salon with a hairdressing teacher for practical experience.
This course aims to teach the students practical skills within hairdressing and beauty therapy while also developing their reading, writing and spoken English. The course includes: learn about salon equipment/processes; learn about different jobs in a salon; learn about reception duties; students can act as models for the beauty department and get free treatments; take part in visits to hair shows and salons; practise basic hairdressing skills; learn about working in a team; improve your English skills also develop your computer skills.

Course Structure:
A fully integrated course with a focus on language development within the area of Hair & Beauty taught by a team of specialists. Course hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 9:30-12:15 plus Tuesday 1.15-4.00pm

Course resources:
All students have access to our fully equipped state of the art learning centre. This included free internet access.

Assessment:
Units of ESOL skills for life and exam preparation for NVQs

Next step:
Continue onto NVQ Level 1 Hairdressing or NVQ Level 1 Beauty Therapy.

Fees Info
The fee where stated is an 'INCLUSIVE FEE' for UK/EU students. This fee includes the tuition fee, examination fee and exam board registration fee. You may have to pay extra for materials for the course. If you are under 19 years or you are in receipt of an income related benefit the course and exam fee is FREE. Students aged 60+ years pay 70% of this fee. Students aged 19+ will also have to pay a College Registration Fee of £30 (or £20 if you receive benefit) once per academic year.Materials costs:
Students will need some equipment, currently £74 (subject to change). You may get some help to pay for this.
