Personal and Professional Development in Health and Social Care.
Public Health.
Fundamentals of Anatomy and Physiology.
Sociological Perspectives.
Psychological Perspectives.
Caring for Children and Young Children.
Supporting and Protecting Adults.
Physiology of Fluid Balance.
Physiological Disorders.
Research Methodology for Health and Social Care.
Applied Science for Health and Social Care.
Human Physiology for Health and Social Care.
A further 5 units will be studied which may include:
Nutrition for Health and Social Care.
Complementary Therapies.
Mobility and Exercise for Health and Social Care.
Environmental Health.
Introduction to Counselling.

How Will I Be Assessed?
Most units will include projects/assignments, case studies and practical work. A double unit assignment is assessed by an external examiner and all other units will be assessed by your tutors. Each unit will be graded Pass, Merit or Distinction and your 18 units are equivalent to 3 A levels.
You will undertake block week placements in Health/Social Care settings and you will be assessed on placement in order to satisfy the Vocational Practice unit.

What Could I Do Next?
This course gives access to higher education courses such as a Nursing Diploma, Nursing Degree, Midwifery, Medical Science and investigations, Paramedic Degree or training, and other professions such as Teaching, Occupational Therapy, Radiography, Podiatry and a variety of other related degrees.
This qualification will also lead to work in Health and Social Care settings.

Are There Any Special Expenses?
Students will be expected to pay for their own transport expenses, for example bus fares to and from their placements, plus a CRB check before going on placement.
