Health & Social Care BTEC (Edexcel) First Diploma in Health & Social Care

Course content:
This is a practical, work-related course in which you learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.
The course consists of six units and these include: communication and individual rights within health and social care, anatomy and physiology, human lifespan and development, cultural diversity in health and social care, creative activities in health and social care and the impact of diet on health. Course includes 3 key skills in communication, IT and application of numbers.

Course Structure:
The course is delivered over one year. Students undertake 6 units. It also includes block placements of one day per week placements.

Course resources:
Course textbook, lever arch file, subject dividers and lined writing paper.All students have access to our fully equipped state of the art learning centre. This included free internet access.

Assessment:
All units are assessed and graded and an overall for the qualification is awarded

The fee where stated is an 'INCLUSIVE FEE' for UK/EU students. This fee includes the tuition fee, examination fee and exam board registration fee. You may have to pay extra for materials for the course. If you are under 19 years or you are in receipt of an income related benefit the course and exam fee is FREE. Students aged 60+ years pay 70% of this fee. Students aged 19+ will also have to pay a College Registration Fee of £30 (or £20 if you receive benefit) once per academic year.Materials costs:
Approximately £25.00 for appropriate care texts. In addition students will need to provide folders and writing paper. Also £335.00 for a CRB Check.
