About this course

This is a level 1 course and you need to be aged 16 or above, and to have achieved ESOL E3 in reading and writing. A Criminal Records Bureau check and a satisfactory reference are requirements for admission to this course. There will be a computerised assessment on basic literacy and numeracy skills. Following interview, attendance at an induction day is compulsory.

Course Description:
The Diploma in Health and Social Care has been designed to provide an introduction to the Health and Social Care sector and a basis for further education and training. Course Content: Eight units, covering: · working and developing skills in health and social care · personal effectiveness and social responsibility · health and the environment · images of people and exploring local services. Attendance both at college and work placements is essential.
Assessment: Continuous assessment, excellent attendance in college and work placement, two external assignments and production of a portfolio.
