Course content:
This full-time 2 year course covers a range of practical media skills, including video, editing and print. There are also related theoretical elements such as film and television studies.
Want to work in a fully operational TV studio, making factual and drama programmes? Want to learn or develop skills to sound and vision. We are unique in offering a diverse and dynamic programme which incorporates 16mm film and traditional and digital editing, video art, installations and soundscapes. This sound and vision course also offers the theoretical approaches needed to enable you to underpin the practical aspects of the course and develop advanced skills in critical analysis and research.

Course Structure:
The course is divided into units which are taught either independently or overlapping with other, related units.

Course resources:
Fully equipped TV studio, digital video cameras, final cut pro editing package, suite of Apple Mac Computers, Desk Top Publishing packages, and other software packages.

Assessment:
Continuous assessment at 6 weekly intervals, plus externally set GNVQ tests in core units and key skills.

Higher National Certificate in Media Production and/or University

The fee where stated is an 'INCLUSIVE FEE' for UK/EU students. This fee includes the tuition fee, examination fee and exam board registration fee. You may have to pay extra for materials for the course. If you are under 19 years or you are in receipt of an income related benefit the course and exam fee is FREE. Students aged 60+ years pay 70% of this fee. Students aged 19+ will also have to pay a College Registration Fee of £30 (or £20 if you receive benefit) once per academic year.Materials costs:
Minimal: Students will have to buy stationery and discs for storing work.
