Is this course for you
Do you want a career in Performing Arts? Stageworks in association with Huntingdonshire Regional College are offering a full time training course to prepare students interested in entering the industry.

Duration
1 or 2 years (depending on ability).

What will you study
You will be prepared to audition for three year vocational stage schools, your standards will be raised to help you become a competent all round performer in this competitive industry and you will achieve up to six qualifications at Level 2 and Level 3 that are recognised within the performing industry. As well as vocational qualifications that can be achieved the course will also prepare auditions pieces, practice mock interviews specific to the students choice of college they are aspiring to apply to. Career guidance, and college choice decisions are assessed and discussed on a regular basis. We aim to prepare the students mentally to be able to take on the challenges ahead of them whatever their individual aim may be.

How will you be assessed
You will be continually assessed throughout each year, building a repertoire of audition pieces. External examination will be in the following: ISTD (Classical Ballet, Modern Jazz) * Trinity (Acting, Musical Theatre and Speech and Drama) * Active IQ Exercise to Music * AQA (GCSE, AS & A2 Level) (Contemporary Dance).

What can you do after course
You can apply to audition for a place on a Performing Arts Vocational or Degree course at Level 4 and above.

Additional information
There will be the opportunity to showcase your work and visit colleges offering the three year vocational courses. There will also be the opportunity to work with guest artistes. Functional Skills - you will be expected to undertake these at the appropriate level.
