Step Up to Training and Work City & Guilds Functional Skills

Course content:
Are you anxious to get on and train or enter the world of work? Do you worry that your talents might be overshadowed by weaknesses in your literacy and numeracy skills? Is your lack of confidence holding you back from fulfilling your ambitions? Come and join us and step up to training and work.
Spend the year learning to read confidently, quickly and accurately. Improve your writing skills, including spelling, grammar and punctuation, so that you can tackle producing reports and letters. Build your confidence in group discussion and making presentations. Learn to add, subtract, multiply and divide confidently, to work with percentages, decimals and fractions, to calculate with money, to measure and weigh in a variety of units, to convert between currencies, to interpret and produce graphs and charts and much, much more. Use computers throughout the course to help you with your studies.

All students have access to our fully equipped state of the art learning centre. This includes free internet access.
