Unit 1: Global Challenges
Two compulsory topics:

• World at Risk
• Going Global

One exam: 1 hour 30 minutes, 60% of AS marks

Unit 2: Geographical Investigations
Choose two topics from four:

• Extreme weather or crowded coasts
• Unequal spaces or rebranding places

One exam: 1 hour, 40% of AS marks

A2
Unit 3: Contested Planet
Six compulsory topics:

• Energy security
• Water conflicts
• Biodiversity under threat
• Superpower geographies
• Bridging the development gap
• The technological fix

One exam: 2 hours 30 minutes, 60% of A2 marks

Unit 4: Geographical Research
Choose one topic from six:

• Tectonic activity and hazards
• Cold environments
• Life on the margins: the food supply problem
• The world of cultural diversity
• Pollution and human health at risk
• Consuming the rural landscape

One exam: 1 hour 30 minutes, 40% of A2 marks

Assessment
The course will be assessed by examination only.
