In this short practical course you will learn about the use and techniques of compositing in professional film making and create your own composited movie clip. You will learn how to set up, light and film effective green screen footage. You will then learn how to import the footage into the professional editing software Adobe Premiere Pro CC and create a short composited sequence using keying video effects.

Our high definition cameras and the latest professional equipment and software are available for your use throughout the course. It would be useful to bring a memory stick (or portable hard drive – please note PC formatted hard drives can be read by Apple mac computers, but not written to.).

- The use of compositing in contemporary film making practice.
- What is Green Screen & How It Works
- How to Set Up and film a Green Screen Shoot
- How to use Keying effects in Adobe Premiere Pro CC
- How to export your sequence as a QuickTime movie.

You will be taught using a range of techniques including workshops, short lectures, demonstrations, practical exercises, tutorials, group and individual assistance and hand-outs. Please note the City Lit uses Apple Mac computers in Animation, Cartooning, Digital arts, Film, Graphics, Illustration, Photography and Web design.

Additional information

You can further develop your skills and interest in Film and Video through a range of courses at the City Lit in digital film making, editing and animation. You can also enhance your work through a range of sound design courses at city lit.
