This course is ideally suited for students who have a good understanding and experience of GRP lay-up techniques who wish to progress to be proficient in more complex structural repairs to single skin GRP laminates to the standards required of Lloyd's Register.

About the course:

  • Removal of damage with routers and cutters
  • Grinding tapers and scarph angles
  • Surface preparation
  • Back up plate manufacture
  • Back up plate removal preparation and dry fitting
  • Back up plate bonding and fixing
  • Laminate replacement
  • Gel coat replacement
  • Cosmetic surface finishing techniques
