The course is suited for students with a good under standing of GRP lay-up techniques that wish to be able to carry out basic structural repairs to single skin GRP laminates to Lloyd's register standards.

About the course:
This is a one-day practical course on the structural repair of single skin GRP laminates. This course will include practical repairs techniques & hole damage, were access is accessible from both the inside and outside of the laminate faces.
Course Content:
- Damage assessment
- Removal of damage with routers and cutters
- Grinding tapers and scarph angles
- Surface preparation
- Temporary mould manufacture
- Temporary mould preparation and fixing
- Gelcoat and original laminate replacement
- Cosmetic surface finishing techniques theory
NB: The cosmetic surface finishing practical element may be completed at a later date to enable the gel-coat to reach its fully cured hardness properties.
