Hairdressing and Barbering - NVQ Level 1 Certificate

You will be introduced to a range of salon activities, from shampooing and conditioning the hair and scalp to working on reception. You will develop a range of skills, including how to neutralise hair and remove colour, and will assist hair stylists with the work they do. You will train in a real hairdressing salon, and will learn how to work in accordance with health and safety procedures.

You will need a keen interest in hairdressing.

You will be assessed by a range of methods, including written assignments and practical assessments. Some independent study is also expected.

On successful completion of the course, you will achieve a NVQ Level 1 Certificate in Hairdressing. You can then progress straight on to Level 2.
