This course is aimed at those who have achieved a level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in hairdressing, or have significant experience within the hairdressing industry and wish to pursue a career in supervisory management, whilst updating their skills and knowledge.

Will I need anything else?
You will be required to follow a professional dress code and provide a specialist hairdressing kit. You will need to provide models for assessments. Access to a camera is essential, as photographic evidence is required for your portfolio.
How long & often do I attend?
You can choose how to study this course, either as a substantial programme requiring attendance of several sessions per week, or study for a longer period of time for a reduced number of sessions per week. 90% attendance is required for successful completion. You may be required to attend on the day of the External Verifiers visit.
How will I be assessed?
There are a number of formal end of unit external examinations. Qualification is achieved via continuous assessments, practical observation, oral questioning, written assignments and building a portfolio of evidence.
What opportunities will this lead to?
A variety of opportunities will be available to students on completion of this course, including management, technical representative for a hairdressing company and cruise ships. Level 3 is a requirement for progression on to a teacher training course and for progression on to NVQ Level 4 Hairdressing.
