You will learn about working as a team in Health and Social Care and Early Years services and many other issues relating to this subject area.

Throughout the course you will have an opportunity to apply the knowledge you have acquired in a practical and realistic way by attending work placement experience in the community, participating in class discussions and sharing your own experiences.

This programme offers you a wide background knowledge of work in this occupational field and prepares you for employment in the caring sectors or for progression onto the Level 2 programme.

The Level 1 programme offers a combination of up to 12 units which can enable you to gain the First Award (4 units), National Award (8 units) and National Certificate (12 units).

There are 4 mandatory units covering aspects of team work, communication, practical care and preparing for employment and a range of optional units for the National Award and full National Certificate.
