Description of the Course
The NVQ Care programme has been primarily designed to meet the needs of individuals currently employed in Care Homes and Domicilary Care who want a recognised qualification to underpin their practical experience. The scheme includes a series of 6 six hour workshops aimed at providing the essential knowledge required for successful completion of the NVQ. These workshops are linked to a concurrent programme of assessment and portfolio building. All participants will have their own assessor to guide them through the qualification and to help them build a portfolio of work related evidence. A high degree of flexibility has been built into the scheme so that participants are able to choose a package of workshops that suits their particular knowledge needs.
Course content
The workshops will focus on the following NVQ units:
· Communicate with and complete records for individuals
· Support the Health and Safety of yourself and individuals
· Develop your knowledge and practice
· Ensure your own actions support the care, protection and well-being of individuals.
With 2 optional units
Assessment
Candidates must produce a portfolio of work related evidence to achieve the qualification.
