Lecturers at Coventry are all very supportive, and my degree content I find it relevant and engaging. There are great opportunities for social activities and international travel that I have participated in. A especial emphasis is placed on employability skills, through mandatory modules throughout the duration of the degree, the opportunity to undertake summer and a year long placement between year 2 and year 3 is also actively encouraged. Very good, academic staff and available and supportive when needed and wider university pastoral care services are accessible should you need to use them.

Clinical Physiotherapy is a great course at Coventry. Members of staff are on hand whenever you need them. The level of group work can be daunting at first but it is extremely valuable and provides you with skills along the way that you didn't realise you were picking up, there are also some extremely high marks to be earnt if you give enough time and effort to it. You will be presented with three different cases of diseases based around the respiratory system, cardiovascular system along with a final neurophysiological section. You will be assessed for each. The first is summative and consists of a presentation, second is formative and a presentation along with a full scientific leaflet, finally a A1 poster presentation presented in an open area of the university to your tutors along with anyone else who choses to join such as the head of school or the dean. This course balances perfectly in depth aspects of both medicine and the pharmaceutical industry, providing clear career information and how to get there. This is along with the opportunity to stay on at the university and gain a masters in pharmacology and drug discovery, as well as plenty of PhD opportunities for those students willing to work for it. All staff are available when they say they will be and only at the other end of an email, I have received an unbelievable level of support with absolutely everything I have done, whether that be personal, interview training, guidance with work I find difficult etc. The course is set 50% each way roughly by coursework and exams, coursework including essays, lab reports and leading on to writing full scientific articles - potentially worthy of publication or conferences. Final year also includes your own lab based project for your thesis, conducting your own research! Teaching is lecture, workshop and lab based, along with an element of independent study which is up to you if you want to achieve those higher grades. The level of lab experience we gain at this university is of an extremely high standard and focuses around making you an attractive and employable graduate.

I am studying Medical Science and Pharmacological Sciences. It is a very interesting course and you can specialise and divert to any branch. Pharmacology is a great course to be in. I'd like to be a clinical research scientist and this idea came from many work placements I have done during summer. Last summer I worked with one of my lecturers and I was able to see her research on anticancer drugs.
