Content / Overview:
A thought-provoking course that provides an insight into the nature of autocracy across the ages. At AS Level, you will study two modules including Russia and Germany, 1871-1914 and anti-Semitism, Hitler and the German People, 1919-45. At A2 level, you will study the crisis of the British Monarchy from 1642 to 1689. You will also have the opportunity to undertake a piece of coursework of your own choice. You will experience a variety of learning methods including, class presentation, extended reading and internet research. This is a rigorous course which is both rewarding and challenging. History students achieve outstanding results that are well above the norm for sixth form colleges and progress onto prestigious universities such as Oxford, Cambridge and Bristol.

Lectures, presentations, group activities, research and discussion.

Assessment:
Coursework and exam.

Progression:
Degree in history or careers in the Civil Service or other related areas.
