The Programme
This programme is for learners wanting a practically based Hospitality and Catering course covering the main kitchen and restaurant skills and the important theoretical background to those subjects. The programme does require learners to complete written assignments and ten practical tests which are both externally assessed.
The Programme Content
Learners will achieve an NVQ 2 in Serving food and drink and Level 2 Diploma in Professional Cookery. Additionally there are a number of other qualifications that learners can achieve from the following: Food Hygiene; Patisserie; and Wines.
Work experience is part of the programme and there may be opportunities to work in another European country.
Progression / Careers
Learners can progress to a NVQ Level 3 Certificate in Professional Cookery at North Devon College or gain employment as a Chef/Cook or Waiter/waitress.
