This course will develop your knowledge and skills in core areas of human resource management (HRM) to help you start or further your career as an HR professional. The course will also enhance your expertise in professional activities related to employee resourcing, employee development, employment relations and employment law. You will gain experience in practical problem solving informed by leading edge theory and research.

Entry qualifications are normally either a degree in a business related subject with a minimum of a good honours degree (2.2 or above), or a CIPD Foundation or Advanced Certificate or Diploma with appropriate experience. Non-graduates who possess either a CIPD Foundation or Intermediate qualification or equivalent are encouraged to apply.

This is a Level 7, CIPD approved programme of study, which gives you the underpinning knowledge to apply for an upgrade to one of the Chartered CIPD memberships (MCIPD/FCIPD) after graduation. You have the opportunity to register as an Associate member of the CIPD by virtue of your registration on this programme of study.

Teaching and assessment

The Postgraduate Diploma in HRM is studied by distance learning the course commences with an online induction and is then taught entirely online via recorded lectures, webinars, chatrooms, discussion boards, work-based projects and written materials. There is one assignment per module and two exams where you will need to attend the De Montfort University, Leicester campus.
