This course will develop your digital communication skills. You will focus on the two mains ways of communicating on-line: by text and face-to-face. In general, we will look at WhatsApp – how to set it up, send texts and arrange your settings to make the most of its features including group chats and messages and setting up WhatsApp on multiple devices. We will also look at how to make video calls including group videos using WhatsApp. We will also look at the security features of the app and how these relate to other apps. The main part of the course will look at the use of Skype and Google hangouts for free communication. We will look at how to choose and set up a webcam on your computer. You will then learn how to download Skype, find Skype contacts and maintain a contact list, make a video call for free and use Skype IM (Skype Chat) to send a document, picture or link.
