We are all members of families and other systems and these have a profound effect on our lives, sometimes being the source of intractable difficulties and patterns. Systemic family constellations, originally developed by Bert Hellinger, is a powerful, phenomenological method of exploring the hidden dynamics underlying challenging personal issues. A constellation creates a ‘living map’ of the system to be explored and may reveal entanglements or blockages within it. Often a new perspective emerges and may reveal a way forward. (N.B. systemic constellations is not the same as systemic family therapy).
