Our course is a fantastic grounding in the subject and allows you practice the key skills you'll need to become a competent and thorough computer technician, who can support non-technical computer users.

Progression:
You can progress on to a level 3 course such as BTEC National Diploma Media Production (Games Development), BTEC National Diploma IT Practioners or Access to HE Compuer Studies, all offered at the College.

Entry Requirements:
In our experience in order to be successful on this level of course you will need one of the following:
• four GCSEs at grades D-F (including English and maths)
• a BTEC foundation diploma in a related subject
• an NVQ Level 1/technical certificate in a related subject
• successful completion of the Gateway/Newstart course
• successful completion of the E2E/Prince's Trust course
• equivalent qualifications or relevant work experience.

Duration: 26 weeks

Course Overview
What does the course involve?:

This course is delivered in conjunction with the foundation level City & Guilds 7266-01 Level 1 Certificate for IT Users. The course provides the foundation knowledge and skills required to work as a computer technician. You will carry out practical assignments and develop confidence in preparation to work on computer and microcomputer systems. There is also an opportunity to attempt adult literacy or numeracy external assessments.
