The aim of this course is to extend your knowledge of Italian, through the close study of and discussion about an Italian work of literature each term, regular grammatical revision and occasional essays.

Course programme
These will include: the study, through reading, discussion and writing, of an author to be specified each term. Focus on grammatical structures such as: the subjunctive plus conditional moods; reported speech; the past historic and uses of other past tenses. Analysis of literary styles, sentence structures and idioms and style.
The course is based on the communicative approach: - active students’ interaction - emphasis on speaking and listening skills - pair and group work - role plays - use of realia, pictures and authentic material - use of audio-visual techniques when appropriate Please note, students are expected to participate in oral classroom activities and to do some homework as and when required.Additional information
