Italian Conversation

Level: This is an intermediate course.

What is the Italian Conversation course?
This course assumes you have some previous knowledge of Italian which may come from either completion of an adult education improvers level course, experience of learning the language at school or time spent in a country where the Italian language is spoken.

You will learn vocabulary and structures that are needed for practical communication while visiting Italy for either business of pleasure purposes.

• Discussing past, present and future activities
• Becoming conversant in current affairs
• Understanding aspects of political life
• Extending your knowledge of cultural differences
• Being able to discuss films, literature and art

Teaching and Learning
The course is designed to increase your confidence further in the speaking of the Italian language. The lessons will be conducted as far as possible in Italian.

You will continue to build on your knowledge by working in pairs and small groups to practise expressions and sentence patterns. You will increase your knowledge of Italian vocabulary and hone your comprehension and communication skills through listening to authentic language. In class you might use printed materials, recordings, DVDs, the language laboratory and the Internet.

You will be expected to set aside at least one hour a week between classes for preparation work.

Assessment details
There are no formal assessments. You will receive a College certificate on completion of the course.

An advanced Italian course.
