Learning & Development & Support Services OCR Level 4

This course is designed to reflect the activities and responsibilities of the people who work with children, young people and those who care for them. The qualification is aimed at a variety of work force roles, to allow for a greater understanding and flexibility across professions, in order to ensure that the client group is provided with a coherent service.
The qualification will identify common areas of work such as legislation and safeguarding children and young people, multi agency working, health and safety and professional development.

A variety of optional units ensures the recognition of specialist functions enabling the flexibility to move across occupational areas. It provides employers with improved performance, motivated staff and new ideas for the future.

There are 3 individual pathways made up of 6 mandatory units, 3 optional units and 2 specialist units for each of the following: Education Welfare, Supporting Young People and Learning Mentors in schools. The pathways provide candidates with a clear understanding of responsibilities, recognition of existing skills and opportunities to improve services.

What level is it?
Level 4

When will I attend?
1 morning per week, 10:00am - 1:00pm

How will I be assessed?
A combination of assignments, case studies, group work, individual tutorials, direct observation in the workplace, a reflective account and a portfolio of evidence.

What do I need?
You will need to be working in a setting which enables you to provide the evidence required for your chosen pathway plus a Level 3 qualification in one of the following:

  • Advice & Guidance
  • Youth work

Foundation Degree or Degree in a related field.
