BTEC National Diploma - Two-year course
The Level 2 BTEC Certificate in Preparation for Air Cabin Crew Service can be taken alongside this course. See page 79 for details. The BTEC National Diploma in Travel and Tourism is a practical, work-related course. Students are assessed solely by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations and activities. As well as learning about the employment area they have chosen, they develop the skills they need to start or progress a career.
The qualification is equivalent to three A Levels and is made up of 18 units.

- Residential Study Visit
- Work-Based Experience

Visits are arranged to enable students to research the Tourism Industry first hand. Examples of past trips include: New York, EuroDisney and Thorpe Park.

BTEC National Diplomas are valued by employers and in Higher Education.
General Entry Requirements
At least four GCSEs at grade C or above or a BTEC First Diploma (or equivalent) in a related area at Merit level.
