This qualification is regulated by TQUK and undertaken online. It is suitable for learners who wish to develop their knowledge, understanding and skills in the role of an internal quality assurer (IQA). Learners complete two units ‘Understanding the principles and practices of internally assuring the quality of assessment’ and ‘Internally assure the quality of assessment’.

The qualification is equivalent to the D34/35 and V1 Award, former internal quality assurance qualifications.

About this course

Learners must be occupationally competent in their specialist area and have access to work with two assessor or tutors who are working with two learners each (four leaners altogether).

Content of the Qualification

The qualification covers a range of topics including the role of an IQA, standardisation, sampling and legislation relating to IQA.

Qualification Assessment Activities

Assessment activities include the completion of a number of assignments, observations, expert witness testimony and evidence gathered when undertaking internal quality assurance activities. Learners are expected to evidence wider reading and include references in their work.
