This qualification focuses on the factual and theoretical concepts of management and leadership within the dental sector. Learners study a range of reasoning and practical skills required to find solutions to routine challenges and specific problems.

Specialised training looking at skills and techniques for management success in the current regulatory climate.

Teaching

This is a taught course, in which each student is guided by a personal tutor; in this way students benefit from the ability to choose when and where they study with the support of a mentor/tutor. Each programme teaches a range of recognised legal and ethical codes which dental professionals must observe and enables students to embed GDC and Quality of Care regulations into every day practice activities.

On line aspects

Learning and reference materials are provided on line and students work is uploaded directly onto our online Student Pathway from where the tutor accesses your work to provide feedback and guidance.

Our learning materials are set entirely within the dental practice workplace as students contextualise the learning for their own practice

Courses consist of subject units each of which has a Student Notebook. Students are also supported with Learning Activities to develop their knowledge and understanding of the subject matter before creating assignments for assessment.

Course programme

Content

This programme offers blended learning with live to one tutorials with a named tutor.A tutor will contact you to design your programme.

Learners are required to produce assignments meeting approved standards for the following units:

Unit 1 - Building a Productive Dental Team

Unit 2 - Coordinating Personal and Professional Development

Unit 3 - Dental Team Leadership and Management

Unit 4 - Effective Resource Planning and Management

Unit 5 - Quality Measurement and Improvement

GBPP provides a wide range of support measures to learners, including on-line campus, skype or telephone tutorials, blended learning – in which learners can select computer-based study options such as home learning, GBPP Pathways Community.

Distance learners can join a rolling course at any time.

Each learner begins their programme with a learning styles assessment to enable them to work with a tutor to select a learning programme best suited to their needs. This will involve choosing from computer-based distance learning, workshop and webinars formats for the delivery of course content. Each student will have an allocated tutor who will mentor them throughout their qualification. Work for marking is uploaded to the GBTD website, where feedback is posted within two working days.

We provide a wide range of support measures to learners, including

  • On-line campus,

  • Skype or telephone tutorials,

  • Blended learning– in which learners can select teaching and learning formats

  • Pathways Community

Learners can join a rolling programme at any time.

Additional information

The course will provide a means by which participants can develop their own knowledge, skills and role in practice management. The course charts the individual, social and intellectual development of candidates and any changes in attitudes.

Course Fee

Course fees can be paid by instalment on request. On booking you will need to pay a £50.00 deposit when you book your course.  The remainder of your course fee will be paid on invoice in one or up to 4 payments on request. The examination fee is included in the course fee, so there will not be any additional fees to pay.

Each course begins with induction activities to ensure students are comfortable with our online systems before they begin their studies with us.
