2. Course description This course allows you to study while you work and link your experiences in the workplace to your studies and coursework. It's also a great platform to share examples of best practice with your fellow students and learn from each other's' experiences. This course is designed to produce practitioners who are able to critically analyse education policies and initiatives and make an informed contribution to their organisation. You'll be given the tools to understand and assimilate new ideas and concepts and apply these in practice. You'll study the following core modules on the course: • supporting literacy, numeracy and ICT across the curriculum • assessment for learning • inclusive practice • personal development and professional practice • understanding and managing behaviour • teaching and learning strategies • professional practice • innovation in teaching and learning methods Additional modules for this educational management pathway of the course include: • key management functions and roles • key qualities and skills within the management role • leadership • organisational structures and the management role Your assignments will be sector-focussed, such as lifelong learning, or compulsory education, to develop the relevant skills of analysis and evaluation.

3. Entry requirements You will need between 120 and 240 UCAS points from: • at least two A Levels at ‘A2' • a BTEC Diploma or Extended Diploma • International Baccalaureate You will also need to have a placement in an appropriate educational setting for a minimum of three hours per week.  Mature students with relevant experience and/or qualifications, including an Access to HE Diploma within a relevant area, are welcome to apply. You must hold GCSEs in English and maths at grade C or above. You will be invited to an interview. If you hold a full teaching qualification (eg. PGCE or DTLLS) you may be able to apply for accreditation of prior learning against some of the course modules. You can discuss this with us at interview. 4. Assessment method Each module is internally assessed through individual or group assignments, which can be practical, making use of current educational thinking.
