Life Drawing **

Your Course
The course welcomes students of all abilities and will be structured accordingly. Emphasis will be placed on acquiring the discipline of thoughtful observation.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course you will have been given the opportunity to:
· Use strategies to maximise the potential for accurate observation and recording.
· Gain an understanding of the language of drawing through personal experience and by looking at how other artists have used mark making in their work.
· Become competent in planning composition and using different skills as applicable not only to life drawing, but all types of drawing.
· To have developed confidence in and enjoyment of drawing generally.

Students are also asked to bring their own materials as listed below:

· Pencils (a variety of grades)
· Sketchbooks (A4 or A3)
· Cartridge paper (loose)
· Charcoal sticks
· Putty rubber

Your Tutor
Mark Rigby studied illustration at Anglia Polytechnic University, Cambridge graduating in 1996. He has since devoted his time to painting. Since his successful debut exhibition in Cambridge's Gallery 96 he has participated in shows in galleries in Oxford, Norwich & Southwold. He teaches Art & Design at Cambridge Regional College and is a associated lecturer at Bedford College of Higher Education. Mark has recently returned to Anglia where he is studying for a masters in children's book illustration.

Method of payment: Fees for short courses (10 weeks or less) to be paid in full at enrolment and for long courses (12 weeks or more) fees of 50% can be paid at enrolment plus 50% as a cheque. Course places cannot be reserved without receipt of both payments.

Please note that there are no classes during half term Monday 15th - Friday 19th February 2010 unless otherwise stated.
