You can read and understand short pieces of writing such as letters, messages, simple stories, timetables and adverts. You can write short pieces of writing - for example an email to a friend, a simple letter, a story or a message.
You can work with numbers, symbols, and simple diagrams. You can add and subtract simple numbers and use simple fractions. You can use money, tell the time, measure things and know about squares, triangles and rectangles.
What qualification will I receive?
City & Guilds Certificate in Adult Numeracy Entry Level.
Where can it lead?
This course could lead to a Level 1 or Rusty Maths course.
What will I study?
In addition, it would allow you to gain access to Foundation courses in vocational areas.
How will I be taught?
The course includes small group work, lectures from your tutor and individual work with the tutor helping you with your work.
How will I be assessed?
You will have to complete a timed assignment in order to gain a certificate.
What support is available while I am on the course?
Your tutor will help you with your course and support you with other issues which affect your study.
