Credits: 60
Period: 1
Type: Core
Locations: Wolverhampton City Campus
This module is designed to enable you to develop a deeper appreciation and understanding of the research process which builds on existing skill and knowledge. You will be required to undertake either a small scale study or an in-depth literature review. Fundamental to this is to develop self-efficacy and autonomy in research skill. Unlike a formal taught module independent learning will be fostered with supervisory support and guidance. This will enable you to become a confident researcher which will increase your scope of professional practice and inform professional decision making. As part of your learning you will deepen your knowledge of research, develop a research question (small scale study) or identify a topic of interest for an in-depth literature review. Using a critical lens you will position your methodological approach, paradigm belief, evidence knowledge of literature searching, literature critique, methodological approach, and evidence analysis skill and dissemination strategies. The aim is to add to practitioners’ research repertoire to advance practice and improve health care delivery.
