We sing beautiful music from across the musical repertoire with the dual purpose of enjoying singing together in a group and to develop singers’ aural and sight-singing skills. The sessions will involve warm-up exercises, singing simple music such as easy canons, as well as choral music in various styles in multiple voice parts. The range of material will be appropriate to those who are fairly new to using tonic solfa as well as those who are more experienced and want the opportunity to put it into practice.

There will not be any homework but individual practice is encouraged in order to develop your skills. The class will be taught as a group. Bring a pencil and enthusiasm to take part in group singing. We offer choral singing throughout the year: Choral singing for pleasure and Choir at lunchtime (multiple dates available, please check carefully before you book). We also offer weekly musicianship classes including Aural Training.
