Introduction
A one year course equivalent to one A level, this National Award will give you an excellent broad understanding of the management of farm animals.
About the course
The course will cover the health, feeding, breeding and welfare of all classes of farm livestock including sheep, pig and beef dairy cows. You will gain knowledge and experience through a mixture of practical work and lecture sessions. Practicals will include lambing sheep, cultivations, estate maintenance and halter training cattle. You will have the opportunity to obtain an additional NPTC qualification in animal transportation, tractor driving, Veterinary Medicine Certificate and quad bikes.
You will also have the chance to enjoy UK study tours and farm visits.
