To develop: An understanding of the legal and social roles and responsibilities of Licensees - A knowledge of the minimum requirements and basic operating procedures in an on - licenced premises - A knowledge of the duties of the Designated Premises Supervisor, the role of licensing authorities and police powers regarding licensed premises - An awareness of the licensee's social responsibilities in respect of alcohol, drugs and public disorder. Suitable for: This course is open to candidates who are preparing to work, or who already work, in licensed retailing and those who are seeking to manage, or already manage, public houses or other licensed premises.

Course Details
Under the Licensing Act 2003 - Personal licences authorise individuals to sell or supply alcohol, or authorise the sale or supply of alcohol, for consumption on or off premises for which a premises licence is in force for the carrying on of that activity.
To qualify for a personal licence an individual must be aged 18 or over and possess a recognised qualification. This course has been specifically adapted to meet these requirements.

Examination
Multiple-choice 40 questions at the end of the course (1 hour allowed). To achieve the certificate you must get a minimum of 28 correct answers.
Award
Successful candidates will receive a recognised certificate. The qualification is accredited by both Ofqual and the Secretary of State at the Department of Culture, Media and Sport, and has been designed to meet the statutory requirements of the Licensing Act 2003.
