Why study the New Diploma in Creative & Media?

This course provides an exciting opportunity for students to become involved in a wide range of creative and media
projects. Students will be able to see projects through from the very first ideas to the final event and evaluation.

What do I study?

You will work on a range of creative and media projects and you will have the opportunity to learn about lighting,
sound, stage design, prop making, carpentry, stage management, marketing and events management. In
addition you will have the opportunity to study a specialist area through an extended project and you will have a ten
day work placement.

Where does the New Diploma in Creative & Media take me?

The course is a recognised qualification for entry into Higher Education for further study in the creative and media area. Employment opportunities: The course is highly practical and you will have the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of creative and media projects thus helping you to develop the skills that you will need for working within the industry. The course will concentrate on developing back stage/production skills where there is currently a skills deficit in the workforce. Applicants may be asked to prepare an assignment to discuss at their interview in the spring prior to the start of the course.
*Please note that if you study this course you will not always be able to catch the College bus in the evenings as you will need to be available after College for rehearsals and shows. On these occasions you will have to make your own
arrangements for transport home.
