Level is exactly as I thought and is professional but still room for laughs. Feedback at all stages that was really useful. They adapted to the qualifications I work with instantly and it helps that they are experienced teachers/lecturers also as it is not just the old NVQ stuff I deliver. Assessor is a great guy - knows the requirements and also is a mine of info. IQA too is similar - both were very likeable as people and also as professionals. Felt confident at all times and also sought advice regularly and was always treated with respect and support. As a mature student, I felt that the Salon North End training academy was the best option for me as it meant that I was still able to work full time and pursue my studies in the evenings. The NVQ level 2 and 3 courses were both practical and theory based, covering all aspects of beauty therapy and I learnt all of the skills that are required to become confident and competent in the industry, meaning that I was able to secure employment after the first year. I would recommend training in the private sector for anyone who wants to receive a better quality of learning at your own pace in a relaxed atmosphere.

Very helpful and honoured all appointments and gave me feedback on all work I submitted, a very different experience to other colleagues with other providers! We will use again certainly as professional & knowledgeable! All units were structured and planned and I felt in control at all times and confident of success.

My assessor was great and also a good motivator as well as being consistent in meeting me and planning/giving feedback. Two staff undertook this a s part of a organisational analysis & plan presented by SDL. They have provided excellent insight and knowledge and support at all times and both managers have reported that they feel more confident and ready to take on more challeges and that they responded well to the work-based learning approach. They both reported that they felt their Assessor quickly understood them & offered practical advice and a sense of informality that they responded to - whilst understanding their schedules and not patronising them as 'trainees' but respecting them as working adults with experience. Recommended.

From the very beginning I knew that this was right for me - I had been recommended SDL and they swiftly met me and we started to plan my units. This way is excellent if you are working and cannot give time to attend evenings or travel to college.
We agreed my 'plan' and then it soon became routine to prepare and deliver work. Assessor was a great chap and also really useful & commited to supporting me. This is a great way to learn and you do not have to change your routine - also was accredited for all the previous training I had done so some units had already got work towards them. Nice one!

Personal development & satisfaction. Definitely will reinforce employment security. Fitted in with my schedule and work hours. Cost/Time was negligible and I have really enjoyed the whole experience - started to think again which can only be a good thing.
Never hassled and flexible in meetings/sessions and also the use of email. You are not doing things for the sake of it - everything is real and based on work.
Amazing guys who know their stuff - also are a pleasure to know and useful to discuss ideas with. Will certainly keep in contact with them. Course is designed with what I wanted to achieve and the service given was first class. They immediately get right into your business and work role and get you searching for evidence. As an aside they also know a lot about other training, qualifications & development and have discussed opportunities for myself, colleagues and also family and friends - very useful indeed especially STEM Leadership Skills for young people - many thanks!← | →
