You will have a choice of units to choose from for this course. You will have to take a total of 8 units to achieve the course. All candidates should take 4 mandatory and 4 optional units. The mandatory Units are:

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of healthy and safe practices in working environment
• Develop practices which promote choice, well-being and protection of all individuals

You can start the NVQ at any time during the year with the expectation that you will complete the award within three years of starting.

Career prospects for people with this qualification are high and can be lucrative. You can progress on to the Leadership and Management of Care Services NVQ 4. You will also be able to progress to other qualifications such as Management level 5 and higher education programmes.
