The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) was established in 1980 and is sponsored by the four main Accounting Bodies. It seeks to meet the educational and training needs of a wide range of trainees including those employed in accounting in a variety of organisations and those aspiring to change their occupation. This course is designed for employees who have a reasonable level of numeracy and literacy skills.

How will you be assessed
There are two types of assessment, skills based tests and external examinations. The first type of assessment is designed to test practical skills. Evidence from the student's place of work can count towards this. All skills based tests are assessed by the College. The second type of assessment is an external examination and is marked by the AAT. These are designed to test underpinning knowledge and understanding and are taken in June and December
