Course aims:
The course aims to develop your skills in Aromatherapy, including massage and blending of essential and carrier oils.
Successful completion will enable you to work within leisure centres, health clubs, spas, salons, cruise liners, hotels or in a self-employed capacity at home or overseas.
You may also wish to continue study in associated therapies such as Advanced Massage, Reflexology or Indian Head Massage, which are also offered as part-time courses.

Course content:
The course includes units on:
  • Health and Safety in the work place
  • Support employment standards.

The main core of the course includes:
  • Assessment of the client
  • Knowledge and Blending of Oils for Aromatherapy
  • Applying Aromatherapy massage using appropriate Oils and techniques

A variety of teaching and learning methods are used including lecture, demonstration, individual project work, group work and discussion.

Facilities for students:
The college has excellent facilities for both theory and practical work.
These include: 3 large well-equipped and recently modernised Beauty/Holistic salons and a large reception area that serves both Hair and Beauty.
Other facilities include a modern Refectory, well equipped Library, Computer & internet facilities.

Tutors:
The Holistic team is staffed by highly motivated tutors that are passionate about their subjects and have excellent links with employers.

Assessment: You will be assessed by multiple-choice tests set by the awarding body (Health & Safety).
Throughout the course you will be continually assessed on your practical skills which will be supported by assessments, assignments, case studies and activities to compile your portfolio.
Any written assignments and projects must be presented as a word-processed document.

Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology and Level 3 Swedish Massage (VTCT or equivalent).

International tuition fees (per year) : 990

If you are under 19 on 31st August 2009 you do not have to pay Tuition Fees, the College Registration, Awarding Body Registration or Exam/Assessment Fees. However, you will have to pay any Resource Fees. Under 19s entering Higher Education will have to pay full costs.
