Course content:
A course to introduce you to the Deaf Community, so you can gain experience and signing skills in Deaf environment and events. It is also suitable for people with an interest in work with deaf people in the future and is the first step to career in BSL/English interpreting.
Unit BSL 102 is conversational skills (BSL)
You will learn to take part in simple, predictable conversations or instructions in BSL in relations to activities at home, e.g. using numbers, describing interest, activities and commenting on the weather, at home:- people, animals and objects.
Course Structure:
You will lean to use BSL to communicate with deaf people on a range of topics that involve simple, everyday language. Through demonstration, pair/group work and role play.

Assessment:
Tutor feedback, Internally and externally assessed practical skills. Homework, BSL 102 exam with tutor for five minutes · Fees paid separately. Ask Tutor to give you the dates for exam and fees.

Fee 1: Standard fee;
Fee 2: Aged 60+ years fee
Students in receipt of an income-based benefit pay £20 per course per term.
You will need to bring proof of age and any benefits when you enrol.
You DO NOT have to pay a college registration fee for these courses, but you may have to pay for additional course materials.Materials costs:
