This programme enables suitably qualified people to acquire a nationally recognised qualification, which meets the current national standards in the lifelong learning sector for associate teachers, and confers Associate Teacher, Learning and Skills status.

Assessment and Progression:
There are no examinations but, candidates will be expected to complete 3 mandatory units and optional units appropriate to their teaching area and experience. In addition there will be 3 one hour teaching practices, which will be observed by a tutor from the teacher training team.

Progression
If the role of a teacher with ATLS changes to a full teaching role, credits from a Level 4 Certificate may be carried forward to the Nottingham Trent University (Professional Graduate) Certificate in Education.

The programme is run on a part-time basis for 33 weeks, over one academic year

Entry Requirement:
Confirmation from your employer that you have a total of at least 30 hours' teaching over the duration of the programme.
Either confirmation from your employer that you have skills equivalent to a Level 3 qualification or above; or copies of certificates of qualifications at Level 3 or above.
A copy of a Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure, valid for the organisation in which you are teaching.
