Why should I choose the certificate in supporting teaching and learning in schools?
The STL2 is a nationally recognised Level 2 qualification for people who are volunteering or would like to work as a teaching assistant, classroom assistant, learning support assistant or special needs assistant in a school.
How long would it take me to study for the STL2?
This course is offered on a part-time basis.
• Daytime sessions lasting three hours
• Duration of 25 weeks

Additional information
Are practical placements required?
It is highly recommended that you undertake a placement for at least 120 hours over the duration of your study. This should be within a school setting supporting a teacher in the classroom. This will help to maximise your learning potential and develop your own working practice.
There are no formal assessments of your practical work but many of the assignments directly relate to your day-to-day work.
Please note that your placement will require you to have a relevant, current and valid CRB Criminal Records Bureau check.
