About this course
You will be selected for this programme through the interview and initial assessment process. At interview you must demonstrate an ability to achieve or have achieved a minimum of four GCSE grade D and above and an enthusiasm to work with children from birth to sixteen. Together we will discuss your career ideas, your potential employment status and the support available to you.

What will I learn?
You will complete a framework of study including an NVQ Level 2, a Technical Certificate Level 2, key skills Level 1 in Communication and Application of Number, an Employer's Rights and Responsibilities (ERR) and a Paediatric / Childrens 1st Aid Qualification.
How will I be assessed?
During your course you will be continually assessed, including on line exams, direct observations in the work place, reflective practice and four assignments. You will also complete a portfolio of course evidence.
What can I do after the course?
On completion of your course, you could progress your training through to an Advanced Apprenticeship Programme in the childcare field.
